Jermaine Evans
Currently, I am the eighth grade science instructor/coordinator for Blanchette Middle School. In addition to teaching a full schedule, I am apart of the School Improvement Team, a 2012 ICCARS participant and a member of many other academic initiatives. During five short years with Inkster Public Schools some of my responsibilities has included but not limited to developing strategic plans for improvement on standardized test, the creation and supervision of a Science Tech Lab at Blanchette Middle School, to assist in developing, and delivering professional development workshops at the building level and in 2009 district wide via the MMSTLC (Michigan Mathematics and Science Teachers Leaders Collaborative) initiative.

I have previously held a position as lead science teacher and LETUS consultant at Bates Academy, a Detroit Public School. I have worked closely with this program in the areas of program operations, compliance, curriculum development, modification, accommodations and purchases of instructional materials and technology equipment. As an integral part of Bates Academy staff, myself along with several of my contemporaries secured the Good School Grant from the Skillman Foundation and was awarded funds for two consecutive years. While with the Detroit Public School system, I successfully completed the Assistant Principal Academy. I hold a Bachelors of Science degree in Education emphasizing science and math. I have obtained a Masters of Science degree in Science Education. I have completed an Education Specialist Degree in General Education and Leadership. All the above experiences inspired me to seek out new challenges and opportunities with the ultimate objective of improving student awareness and science consciousness. Now, I am a part of GLOBE! Working in many capacities has helped me develop a working rapport based on respect, integrity and exemplary customer service.
