It is a unique high school serving an extremely diverse student population of students primarily from Bangladesh, Yemen, Bosnia, and the United States. Over 37 different languages are spoken in the district. Over 70% of the students receive free or reduced lunch and Hamtramck is one of the poorest districts in Wayne County Michigan.
